About Sydney
Sydney is built around one of the world's great harbours, and the Opera House and Harbour Bridge are only the beginning of it — the ferries are public transport and the best sightseeing in the city at once.
The beaches are properly part of city life: Bondi, Manly and the coastal walk between Bondi and Coogee. There is a large South African community here, and the route carries substantial family travel.
Getting in from the airport
Sydney Airport (SYD) is unusually close to the city — about 8 km, roughly 20 minutes. The Airport Link train reaches Central in about 13 minutes, though it carries a station access fee that makes it pricier than the distance suggests.
